Our baby girl is growing fast enough now that I look different even from one week to the next. I've gained about 10 or 12 pounds, so I finally got some cheap maternity pants which are totally unsexy but SO much more comfortable! BL's also very active...so much that her dad worries that I'm eating too much sugar! I take it as a good sign, and I like to be reassured hourly that she's still there and doing fine. We have discussed names a little more and have some good candidates. One of our early predicaments was that we both really liked the name Lily (and ONLY that one), but "Lily Lightle" is just too much of a tongue twister.
We went to Babies 'R Us last week and picked out some things...it was hard! We spent probably a half hour looking at strollers (so complicated), then decided later that we're not even going to pick one until after BL is born. John did quite well with the shopping, considering his hatred of purchasing items. We went to Don Pablo's afterward to make up for it. Everything just feels up in the air since we don't know where we're going to live for the first year of her life.
I still spend many days feeling pretty tired and lethargic. I feel bad not getting exercise but it's hard to find the energy. I doubt it will get better, since this is supposed to be the good trimester and I'm halfway through it. But at least I haven't been sick and can eat pretty much anything I want (and believe me, I do!).

It's a GIRL!!
What a surprise: my intuition was wrong! Yesterday after much drama and two trips to the doctor's office, we got to see that Baby Lightle is a girl. We couldn't be happier, and I can't wait to go and look at cute little dresses and finally be able to buy pink things. The only thing now is to choose a name...I don't like any of John's favorite girls' names, and he doesn't like any of mine. Uh-oh! But I'm sure we'll decide eventually...we'll have to!
Of course, the ultrasound wasn't just to show the sex of our baby, but also to check lots of other things to make sure she is developing normally, which she is. We got to see her feet and hands (with all five fingers!), her spine, her heart, brain, and various organs. The technician said that they all looked just right. She now weighs about one pound.

Halfway There
Today is officially the halfway point. Since it seems like just a little while ago that John and I found out we were pregnant, this should be a breeze...right? ;) Movements are becoming more frequent, and also more noticeable! I can often feel them even without putting a hand on my belly...that's why I let John feel as much as he wants to, so he doesn't feel left out!

Busy Baby
Somebody was quite active last night! It doesn't feel like much, but I can still tell it's BL poking around. I wonder if that's why I had trouble falling asleep even though I was REALLY tired. In the meantime, I'm really getting bigger and bigger at a fast rate, so I guess that means BL is, too!
In other news, I had yet another dream about BL as a 2-year-old, and he was a boy. I've gotten to the point where I no longer think of BL as "it" anymore, but instead as "he." That's probably crazy, and of course I'll be just as happy about buying cute little pink dresses as I will about buying adorable little overalls, but after all these dreams, it's just hard not to be expecting the latter.
