Day 122

We've just heard from the doctor's office that the AFP test -- which screens for Down Syndrome among other things -- was normal! While there was no reason to worry, it's nice to be reassured that Baby Lightle is likely to be a healthy kid.

In the meantime, I'm waiting to feel some movement. This being week 17, it shouldn't be long now. It'll be an important milestone for me because I'll finally know that that lump under my belly button is really a baby, and not a tumor or something! I've been feeling slightly uncomfortable lately...I think it's my uterus pulling on the ligaments it's connected to as it moves around a little and continues to grow. Also, a lot of my pants are getting tight! I am NOT looking forward to shopping for maternity pants, booooooo! Can't I just wear sweatpants when I'm teaching? Would that really be so wrong? :)

Anyway, farther down the road, we're expecting to find out whether BL is a "he" or a "she" the day before Thanksgiving. No more "it" after that, thank goodness. And then the moment you've all been waiting for (it seems): we'll go to Babies R Us to finally make our baby registry.

Love your idea to blog!

I'll send you some Mozart to play for BL. Never too early... ;-)
